Building a Stronger Revenue Mix with Audio

With growing pressure to diversify revenue streams and maintain strong monetization across all environments, publishers constantly seek scalable solutions that enhance engagement without disrupting user experience. One area with untapped potential is audio. However, integrating podcast content effectively and profitably can be challenging.

AndhraFriends, a publisher with a loyal user base and steady traffic patterns, faced this exact challenge. While site performance remained consistent, the site was looking to unlock new revenue streams.  The team sought a low-lift solution to improve revenue efficiency by tapping into emerging ad formats like audio.

The goal: increase revenue efficiency through smarter demand allocation and explore untapped opportunities in emerging ad formats like audio.

Adapex partnered with Rubio, a unique podcast discovery platform that intelligently matches podcasts to the publisher’s audience. This dynamic integration enriched the on-site experience and created a new monetization channel through premium audio demand.

By activating Rubio across publisher inventory, Adapex was able to:

• Seamlessly introduce podcast content aligned with site audiences
• Tap into high-quality audio demand
• Optimize demand allocation to boost yield

Rubio is an AI-powered podcast discovery platform that creates a personalized on-site experience for users. By recommending shows tailored to individual interests and dynamically delivering audio ads, Rubio helps publishers boost engagement and unlock new monetization opportunities, without compromising the user experience.

Why publishers are testing Rubio:

• AI-powered podcast recommendations tailored to user behavior
• Personalized discovery experience that boosts engagement
• Full-stack audio solution from content integration to ad delivery
• New monetization stream through premium, dynamically matched audio ads

It’s a low-lift, high-impact way to tap into one of the fastest-growing digital ad channels.

To evaluate the impact of Rubio, Adapex compared performance during the same period year over year: January and February 2024 (pre-Rubio) vs. January and February 2025 (post-Rubio integration).

Growth has remained consistent over time, with seasonal patterns holding steady—an indicator that the uplift is not just significant but sustainable.

“Our mission at Rubio is to help publishers turn audio into a strategic advantage. We’re thrilled to see how well the integration performed across Adapex partners.”
